What I don't understand is why PGMusic doesn't just switch to using and external CODEC, as many others do. Sure, you might have to download LAME, for example, separately and then point BIAB/RB to it, but all the program has to do is send the proper parameters to create the MP3 file to either the DLL or the EXE, and voila, done.

Using the internal Windows MP3 capability, which is extremely limited unless you have unlocked it (although, I don't know if you can still buy the Fraunhofer unlock key anymore), or have installed another CODEC via ACM installer (LAME or K-Lite or something else), just seems to cause problems. Folks have been complaining about this as long as I can remember.

This would seem to me to be an easy fix.
