Did anyone else notice that the song name doesn't match the error message? It also has NONAME in the error message. I have never seen this message, but could the name mismatch be a clue?

))) My current setup on my Desktop is running the sound through my Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface using their built in ASIO drivers.

I'd recommend trying it with MME. Sometimes ASIO can cause strange issues like this.

Just got the error message twice tonight. I was running jukebox in the background while cruising around on the forum. If Jukebox allowed us to stop and start at different files instead of just playing all the files in a folder, that would make recovery a bit easier. Jukebox is a great idea but it could do with a bit more flexibility given that so many of us seem to be using BIAB live instead of just rendering wave files etc (Still my backup method).

Lambada, are you using ASIO or MME, and what sound card. Since you mention that timing goes haywire when the problem happens, this makes it less likely to be released to elastique, since it doesn't control timing in any way.

I use MME and I'm using the (amazing) Zoom UAC-2 USB3 Interface. I bought a new desktop for BIAB, so everything is fairly new and reasonablyl fast. Normally I have no problems running Realtracks or BIAB on the PC. Also, I never had this problem before the upgrade to 2016, but then I wasn't using the jukebox or midi control commands on the melody and soloist tracks either. grin

From memory, I think it has happened in normal play mode but not so often. 3 times last night. Sorry, I'm not at my machine at the moment. I also need to try my songs on my tablet as that is what I'm using live rather than streetjelly etc. I'll do that today as I have my notebook with me. If I wasn't using midi control commands for my guitar and vocal effects I'd be fine with rendered files, but having spent ages sorting out the midi control stuff, I would like to use BIAB itself live. I can send you some songs (although it seems to be random) and error reports if that helps. I sent a couple of error reports to the help desk a couple of days back.

Lambada,
Please make a .zip file of the songs you have in a folder that cause this issue when you do a jukebox play of them. And send that to beta@pgmusic.com

We can then run a jukebox on a few PC's and see if anything can be duplicated.

lambada and jcland,

If this is possible...

Another thing that might provide valuable insight is to use the Snipping tool to take a screen clip of the mixer area when this error message occurs. These clips could then be pasted into a Word document. It would then be possible to review each of these images and see what, if any, similarities are present. Maybe something like below...

Just a thought if you have time and if Windows permits.

Regards,
Noel

Noel: I do have the time and can provide as many screen shots as needed. Will be sending in some tomorrow.

Also, acknowledged the parallel thread on the same problem by Tony tonight.

Perhaps with everyone's attention, we can finally get this resolved.

This issue seems to be resolved by setting prefs - realtracks - use high quality pitch/tempo stretch to FALSE. (False is the default so most people don't need to do anything). Note that we couldn't duplicate the issue ourselves, but are just going by user reports that this fixes it.

We will fix it in the next build.

Absolutely, works like a treat now. No messages since I changed this setting.

I would like to know what this option does. I cannot hear any difference in playback with it disabled.

You likely wouldn't.

Of course anyone can feel free to correct me, but in my understanding;

BiaB used to use a different algorithm (method) to time stretch and pitch shift the Realtracks to make them fit the chords.
With the old way, many systems performed better with this optional choice (some one way some the other).
PGMusic has kept this setting to support the older versions. With the newer versions (and newer computers) it is really not needed. It could probably be phased out now since very few users need it and if they are running the current version most likely do not see any benefit.

Just my thoughts
A weird 'backwards compatibility' feature that they have held on to until now.
Now that it is causing issues it may be time to rethink this strategy, which is possibly what PG meant when he said it would be fixed.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
