Putting in my request for a fix also. I know D# consists of the same notes as Eb in terms of sound, but I entered Eb as my chosen chord and that's what I want it to read on my sheet. This is an insult to my screen name (although not dictionary proper) which is about the same as obsessive. Thanks for not changing that PG.

I'm entering chords from the literature that I practice from to add accompaniment and the little BIAB autopilot move can cause confusion, not to mention I don't like when my programs don't follow my instructions.

You gotta be kidding Ab to G# too!

Have you set BIAB to the key appropriate for the music? It sounds like you might have a key other than Eb (or maybe Bb, Ab, or related) set. I use the key of Eb all the time without issue.

EUREKA!

Okay. I started with the chord sheet in concert C. I selected the chord display drop down menu and selected Alto sax. When I initially entered my intended chords some were changed as noted in the post above. While fiddling with the lead sheet attempting to enter notes for a test, I started having problems there as for some reason when I enter a quarter note, (note on the third vertical line, BIAB is not entering exactly what I want which is four quarter notes. I get an assortment of rests and 1/8 note combos but that's another problem.

I went back to the chord sheet at a loss for that and started fiddling with the key signature considering the sheet was in "A" although BIAB dash was showing "C". When I changed the key signature only, to read "Eb", my chord symbols changed to my intended chords. D# to Eb, G# to Ab and C# to Db and the lead sheet changed to "C" which is what I wanted to begin with, a sheet signature free of sharps and flats.

So perhaps changing the key on the dash to match the instrument is the "key" to this problem, at least it is for my arrangement.

Yes that's it however, once the appropriate instrument other than concert key is selected under the chord display, the sax plays in tune with any of the chords entered so I never paid the key signature on the dash any attention until now. I'll be back with more issues I'm sure.

Funny how BIAB changed my chords to my disliking but didn't change the key signature along with my instrument selection where it would have been appropriate.

Almost perfect, it still changes Gb to F#.

+1 for Videotrack's suggestion of adding 'Force enharmonic' along with 'Force accidental'. Of course, BIAB first needs to support Cb, Fb, E# and B#. And thus we circle around to the top of this thread...
