At that price, it's almost impossible to go wrong. .... But personally, I'd still try it out first before buying it. One never knows if a mic will be adequate/suitable for their own voice or timbre through their system. On the flip side, even an expensive condenser may not be the best choice for every voice. Hell of a price for a condenser that's for sure. Carry on... (Side note: I use a CAD Equitek E-100...purchased 1997...a great mic....paid 350$ new)

Hi folks,
I took a chance and ordered one and it arrived today....so far not bad.
Mics are such a personal taste item, what one person likes another may not....With that being said I've only had the chance to try a couple of vocals through it so far and I'm not disappointed, it seems to fit my particular voice well.
I have to put a new gig demo CD together in the near future and I'll try recording with it then.....For $50 how can one really miss....

I own a MXL-990 and I think it sounds fine for a inexpensive mic. Of course if you don't like it you can always send it back to Musicians Friend.
