Just got 2016 installed, wanted to generate a real tracks guitar solo, got this message, "Wav instructions to wav file failed likely due to failures in beatmap stretcher." Does anybody know what that means? What the heck is a beatmap stretcher? Online chat couldn't help me.

Never seen that one, how'd you make it happen?

Installed Ultrplus Pak 2016, opened an existing project that already has a midi solo track, went to a audio stereo track, right clicked, clicked on generate real track, selected the soloist track I wanted, (Brent Mason), and a popup came up with the message.

Milt, is it repeatable?
If so, email the song to support at pgmusic dot com. I feel that they probably would like to know about it.

The fact that it started off as MIDI and ended up as a Wav file might be a hint for them too

Have you been able to generate other things since installing 2016?
Is the file a .MID file, or .SGU or (?)
Are you sure you own this Realtrack (it wasn't marked otherwise)?

Are the first 8 tracks BiaB tracks (labeled with blue lettering instead of black)?

Have you tried doing a cold reboot of the computer and trying it again?

Although my system is normally rock solid, it is essentially, running on a windows OS.... At times, it seems like something in the driver gets corrupted or out of sync and that will cause some strange things to happen or not happen as the case may be.

Any time I get any sort of weirdness in my music programs I will do a cold reboot of the entire studio..... and that includes the interface. Shut everything completely down and restart the entire studio again from scratch.

Then reload the project and try it again. In all the times I've done this, the reboot fixes the issues.

First, thank you all for the replies! When I installed 2016, I chose to leave the real tracks and real drums on the external drive, and only install the program files on my internal drive. When I went through the install, I pointed the preferences for RT and RD to the external drive. When I opened Real Band yesterday and loaded the project, I got a popup asking me if I wanted to change the path to real tracks and real drums to the external drive, so for some reason when I installed the path was not set. I clicked on yes change the path, and now all is well. Go figure. Thanks again for the help, wonderful forum!

While you most often do, you don't always get the same drive letter assigned to an external USB drive when you reconnect. I always check to make sure the drive has the correct letter when connecting before using it, and re-assign it with drive manager if it is not correct.

^What John said is likely why RB prompted you. As he mentioned, the Drive letter can change on the computer when using USB, and RB was trying to help solve the issue.
This happens more frequently if you unplug the drive and plug it back in later, even if using the same port. So you likely DID install it properly in the first place, the drive letter just changed.

I'll probably create my own thread but I have a brand new Biab 2016 Pro install on Windows 10 and I get a message any time I try to generate a realtrack saying "Beat Map Stretcher was unable to load in the WAV file". So similar to the OP but not exactly the same.

Now before anyone replies with the normal "have you...", this is a pristine new install and I'm an experienced windows developer of more years than I care to remember and I have checked and traced this to the wahoo. I've looked at file locations and past forum threads. I've run dll walker to see if there is missing dll dependancies. This install is about as vanilla as you can get - all in c:\bb

What I have found is that this error seems due to WMA files and how they are decoded by Windows. It appears to me that my installation of Windows 10 is not decoding them correctly (if at all). Consequently the Beat Map Stretcher (which takes the audio and fits it to the tempo of my song and the number of bars I want it to play for) can't do it's job.

Now I'm pretty sure I'm SOL and I'll need to try installing biab2016 on another machine with an older version of windows but I'm wondering what version of Windows the OP is running?

Cheers

Matt

PS I checked audio/ASIO settings as the first thing and they're fine. MIDI playback sounds fine as does VSTi playback. It's just realtracks that are the problem for me.
