Hear To Learn: Could it just be that you are not wired to detect sarcasm as such? I know a couple of folks like that and they take everything I say at face value -- which with me is NOT a good idea!
Personally I think your original premise and title is not flying too well in this thread. Maybe just setting it aside and not feel the need to defend every word and refute every misunderstanding may be the best course of action here. Or another option would be for the community to not support/encourage those making fun of the music the guy was asking about?  We can make the community a more friendly supportive place or we can blame the person who is offended for not being tough enough or understanding we were just kidding. I prefer the former!

Maybe you'll just need to wait a little longer before replying to one of my posts or post from your cache if you want! If I write something and then decide it won't be worth the effort I'll remove it...just like anyone else here does. And if you decide to like me well that is just fine but if not well that is fine too!

Sheeesh! It's the net. The flame wars in the early days make today's "offensive" remarks seem like motivational speaker blather. Trolls and flamers dominated the early boards and nearly eviscerating one another was too many folk's game. Should anything really get outa hand here there are moderators available who IMO do a great job. I'm a mod on another board. This community is relatively mellow. That may be, but I doing my best to change that! How am I doin so far?

I find it more interesting to read a thread where everyone who feels like adding something participates. What most people do is just bring the conversation back to what they want to talk about or let it evolve into where ever it goes - you know - like how having a REAL conversation with REAL people naturally flows in REAL life. Well THAT makes sense! I guess I didn't want to offend anyone. How's that working out for me so far!!  LOL I will keep this in mind. It's great advice! So let's get REAL here HTL. It's not like you have never gone off on a different tangent of what was being originally discussed in a thread conversation. smile Agreed. I even covered that  BTW, it was honorable of Mario to apologize in your other thread although I thought it certainly wasn't necessary for this blown out of proportion pettiness of one forum pot deciding to call the other kettles black. Of course it was honorable of him. He's a class act. As I stated, I didn't think he intended it! I find this thread rude, there ya go. grin I'm with ya! But hey it sure got lots of attention. Um...yes it did. I'm not sure if you saw my "bump down" comment? If you did, I'm not sure my "bump down" comment made sense...lol Degrees of rude, now that was classic. LOL! Like a small coincidence vs. a big coincidence. Reminds me of a Seinfeld sketch. LOL! I, personally think it is a bit different. If someone accidentally bumps into you and does NOT say "sorry about that"...a little rude. If someone accidentally bumps into you and says "Get the F our of my way you D..A...!"...I would consider that person to be the more rude of the two. Seinfeld is my favorite comedy and it definitely has that type of feel. It sounds like a conversation they would be having in Jerry's apartment. Now who is our Kramer? Of course I don't mean any of this in a bad way. wink I certainly wouldn't want to be saying the wrong thing here and risk being 3rd degree rude.... (You will have to use Georges voice for this)...Grades. (snort laugh) EVERYONE knows it's a scale! Like with Earthquakes. Try and make me! (how was THAT for rude?) Anyway, thanks for the reply and have a great weekend too! Thanks for the honesty and humor!

HTL, I need to get off of here so I won't have an excuse to procrastinate and actually get some work done on a song tonight but I'm so glad I popped back in because your response when you got to that earthquake grading totally cracked me up! LOL! It sounded EXACTLY like something that would have come right out of George Costanza's mouth! Thanks for a great laugh. That's my husband's all time fav sitcom and one of mine too.
