yep, that's what they say and you probably SHOULD keep all your treasured instruments in controlled conditions at all times. I'm sure I'll end up in guitar hell for abuse. But so far, and I'm talking many, many decades, the world hasn't ended, frets haven't fallen out, tops/sides/backs haven't cracked, necks haven't warped (in either direction), but yes tuning DOES vary a LITTLE over the seasons but after I beat on a guitar for a few hours I need to re-tune it any way. Besides we have no kids to hand these down to - so when I'm gone my wife will probably put them (along with all my other things ) into a trash barrel and burn them all anyway so nothing needs to outlast me by more than a few minutes  ...
