Would Mary Gauthier count as Americana? She is a favorite of mine for several years running! Would would disqualify her exactly? I guess I didn't see this list as having hard and fast rules....just a somewhat free list. I still don't know why she wouldn't be though?  I've always liked "Mercy Now"
