I am returning Dani Lindroos' favor and notifying the Forum that one of our most beloved and respected members, starting with a variant of the flu without a vaccine, has progressed to pneumonia. It's clear from his communications that he is experiencing a potentially dangerous assault and has endured serious suffering. I'm relieved to report that things appear to be coming under control and Dani seems headed out of danger.
I know Forum members will want to show the kind of support for Dani that was shown me, as well as kudos for winning the BIAB contest. Justifiably so.
But, this is also an occasion for triumph. No one can sing this version of
Look of Love the way Dani can. He has captured the male Brazilian singing style (think of Astrud Gilberto with a bass voice) and delivers it with total authority. You've never heard a version of Burt Bacharach's classic like this. And, modesty aside, I don't think Dani could have chosen another arranger.
With the exception of RealDrums, instruments constructed entirely from zeroes and ones are played. At least at some point on their way to the BIAB hard drive, a real person played - as opposed to sampled - a real drum.
