Chose the simplest of styles and played some piano of my own and added some other stuff. Hope you like it.

cool tune.

Nice selection of tracks.... and good job on the live piano. I didn't know you played the keys.

The vox needs to come up a bit. It also sounds like you were some distance from the mic when singing.

I like this song a lot. Like Herb, I would like to hear the vocals a bit closer and crisper in the mix. Small nit, to a good song. This is another song that fits your style of voice really well. A good arrangement and choice of instrumentation.

Thanks Herb!! Yeah, this vocal is tricky, I see what you guys mean. It is kind of John Lennon-ish in that if you try and push it too hard or forcefully, it doesn't work. It has to be sung with a light touch. There are a lot of "head tones" so it is a delicate balance. I'll keep working on it!!!

David,

You are writing some good songs!

Unique, original. And the vocals have so much texture! You do need to find a way to bring them up here to get the mix balanced.

Enjoyed this - a lot.

Good job David!

Like other guys, I would like to better hear your "Neil Young" voice, a bit drowned in the accompaniment. Also, I think the 2 times you go higher in tone is not necessary, the ambience is good in keeping the same register. Just my opinion.

Cheers
Pascal

Hi David,

The music is very good, so is the arrangement and choice of RTs.
You play the piano very well.
Like the others, we think your voice should sound a bit closer by the mic.
All in all a good job.

Thank you, I am working on that now. It will take a while. Just went back and it is tricky. The crispness of the instruments and the crispness of the voice at the right level too, well that is about another three hours...maybe this weekend. It is a delicate mix.

David this is best composition that I have heard from you. I really enjoyed it. I would like to hear it again when you do another mix. Nice piano playing on your part and great selection of RTs.

Thanks Sonny. I might need to set up a "remix channel" on soundcloud for just that purpose.

I am finding that the simpler and more "delicate" your arrangement is the harder it is to mix. There are so many EQing aspects to piano, vocal, and acoustic that are very tricky. It is going to take some practice I can see!!! Thanks for feedback!

Thanks Scott, there were two pianos. One was a comping part from RT and the other was me doing melodic stuff over top of that.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Been loving your guitar playing by the way!!!

Dr. Larsen Sir,

Thank you! I am glad you liked it.

On a humorous note, I am sure you noticed that even I (as a Christian :)) am saying "Hey thanks for the invite but I think I would rather stay here with my own angel."

Not quite sure what the other folks in my Church will say about that one, but hey, I have always been the Black Sheep of the family anyway.

Keep writing those super cool ambient tunes man!!!
