I'm mesmerized by an old Paul Simon album that I heard on Pandora where he introduces yet another element to songwriting - unforgettable rhythm. Paul does an entire album to African rhythms. Absolutely fabulous!

We haven't discussed instrumentation or singer interpretation yet. Nashville writers often have a specific artist in mind to interpret their song as they envision it being performed. Better writers can pick and choose their artists. Supply and demand suddenly flip-flops.
