If you're looking for background stuff, it's hard to beat Real tracks in real band....which you already should have.

If you're going to cover Deep Purple's Lazy... yeah you'll need a good VST.

The free ones are generally one trick ponies and often not very good.

What you think is good might differ from my opinion. And the ultimate use in a song... as far as the tone and overall sound will vary as to what fits and what doesn't.
