I would like to use additional channels as well, but I think a lot of thought would have to go into this. BIAB may only allow 5 channels (Piano, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Strings) for styles, but it actually uses more of the the channels than that. Some of the guitar styles actually use 6 MIDI channels, because there's an option for one channel for each string. I believe some of the harmonies use additional channels, as well. Of course, we still have the melody, the soloist. and thru channels. So it really depends on the style, the song, etc. Some people also use the additional channels with the sequencer feature for MIDI data they may have loaded from an external MIDI file (perhaps to capture a certain riff, or whatever). So I don't think it's just straightforward to say, give me 16 channels for styles, without considering what the other channels may be used for. That being said, we ought to at least be able to get a couple more as maybe user style channels.
