Josie,
As you know, I am not able to get around here as much as I used to (and really want to!) But when I come around, I always look for something you have done. You were one of the first people I heard on the forum when I joined up a few years ago. You were good then, and you have continued to grow and get better and better. In my opinion, this is one of your best, if not the best!
Good to hear your music!

Hey Josie! Not sure I've heard of "beach music" BUT son-on-the-beach, this song is awesome!! Really pleasant and catchy. I hear some Motown. Sounds like it could have been a Carole King song from Wrap Around Joy. Loved everything about it!! Take care. Greg

Josie!
You've delivered a masterpiece here.
I really liked the build from the very first note.
Absolutely fantastic lyrics, embedded perfectly in a sensational melody, with quality backing vocals throughout.
Not a hint of a weak-link anywhere. You must be very pleased with your efforts.
Outstanding.
Trev
Thank you Trev! I appreciate that very much.

This is cool. Very nice job and yeah, I too think it's among the best you have done.
My thoughts are that this is reminiscent of the classic 70's hits with the horns.... and I don't know why I was thinking about Karen Carpenter....
Excellent work. Thank you Herb! The horns RT's are great if you don't mind editing a little bit. I love how live you can make them sound. On this tune, I did the melody, music and most of the horns first then the rest of the song and the lyrics were built around that.

Excellent work. Exactly what Herb said. After 15 seconds of listening, Di and I both said ...who brought Karen Carpenter back? A really super cool tune ... loved that era of Pop Rock. Thgis is beyond sweet! Great in every way. Alan & Di

Hi Josie
I agree with Herb's comment about Karen Carpenter. A great song and production. Well done! Thank you!!! Yes - you've captured the beach music vibe - I agree with ROG, this is a really top write, arrangement and performance. I like it and I mean I like it a lot... Vocals, lead and BG are stellar. This will stand up well with anything on the Beach top 20 at Surf 94.9 Great job. EDIT: Played this one for wife Cindy. She's says it's your best one yet (as she was shagging with a door casing.) Charlie presented a really fine description of your tune. It is indeed a nice one Josie. The first two lines really set up the song well. Cool. 32 tracks!! Sheeeesh....it's all I can do to mix five or six. Great work and, as you mentioned, I'm sure there was a LOT of effort put into this one. J&B Thank you J&B! BTW, that quote of yours "mixing is never finished it's just abandoned." has been so inspirational to me. It's almost like the half empty glass. Looking at it one way is in not giving up too soon and the other way is in knowing it's okay to resist the urge to tweak forever.

Excellent work. Herb said everything that I was thinking... so +1 to that... Thank you FJ! Appreciate that very much. Josie, I love the melody. It does remind me of Karen Carpenter and the 70's. Love the big arrangement. I like the drum sound and you sang this perfectly. Great job. Definitely among your best. Tom Thank you Tom! So glad you liked it. Big arrangements are fun.

Josie B, so wonderful to have you posting again.
Yes, I'm hearing Karen Carpenter in your voice. I've always said you had a fabulous voice and delivery.
Your production is spot on and a total joy to hear.
Thanks for sharing.
Donny Good to see you Donny. Thank you and virtual hug! Hi Josie,
You certainly succeeded in writing something happy. This is a really good song and how wonderful your vocals are! Like many others said: your best song so far. Thank you very much! And thanks for the tips on how you are navigating the user tracks.

Josie Very nice - I agree with all the previous reviews. That's a lot of tracks! Thank you Peter! Yeah, all those tracks made for a fun learning project - most were grouped and routed to a bus. Josie,

Hi Josie,
This is excellent. You deserve all the accolades that have come your way. You've really pulled out all stops with arranging this.... quality everywhere!!!!
Going back for another listen now! Noel
P.S. You've inspired me to try and write something using the horns!

Josie B, my other cyber daughter,
I've always said that you have a sultry, sexy, come-hither voice which is very commercially-appealing in today's music market.
I hear Mary Chapin Carpenter in this one in her shy, but confident delivery. Mary veritably 'whispers' a lyric to captivate and enthrall an audience. Power is seldom needed. You have the same wonderful gift. No dependence upon gadgetry, just a (dare I say) 'naked' voice.
Your selection of instrumentation showcases and frames your beautiful voice to perfection.
Sing with your vocal folds (cords) and the audience may hear you. Sing with your heart and the world will hear you!
Donny

Noel,
Thank you very much! Looking forward to hearing what you do with the horns. I can't wait to experiment with the new ones from 2016 - I haven't tried them in a song yet.
Donny,
You are so kind. Thank you!

Great song one the best I've ever heard on the forum. Beautiful chord line and super background.
You sing very well and all can hear it in this song.
