Wow - take a look at this Band-in-a-Box 7 New Features Video from 1997... www.pgmusic.com/?vid=OdtSP2SfKAI

Peter explains all the new features offered with this version release, which you can also review as a written list here.

What's the first version you owned? I started with PG Music Inc. back in 2004, just after the Mac OS X release (which was Version 12)!

I have an old laptop that still runs windows 98. It is dedicated to just one keyboard, for lesson practice and vocal backup. Has a small footprint, so it fits on the keyboard top. It runs BiaB V7 and does everything I need it to do...

Perfectly adapted to its environment.

I think the oldest version I own is v3.

I started with version 5 in 1992 (on an Atari 1040ST.)

My first BIAB was version 8.

I started with the ProPak (as confused as everyone else at the time about what each pak meant), but with version 9, upgraded to the MegaPak. They didn't have UltraPaks, SuperUltraPaks, or SuperDuperUltraPaks back then, so the MegaPak gave me everything BIAB and I was hooked (and it would appear, based on the last 15+ years, hooked for life).

I started with version 4, but it was 1994 so I assume the store unloaded an older version on me.

Before that, I composed on a Yamaha QY-10. This was a wonderful little device, about the size of a VCR tape. There was also a larger QY-20, and I was in the music store to see if there might be a newer version. That's when the salesman told me BIAB was better. I was skeptical until I started it up!

Walman -

You would do better to start a new thread to help with your problem.

FYI, while this thread talks about version 7, that's not version 2007. There was a version 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 2004, 2005, and 2006 before we get to 2007. And of course 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 since then (with a few yyyy.5 releases thrown in between).

So, not sure how many folks would be able to help due to the age of the version you are running, but again, I would start a new thread to see if anyone has experienced the same issues.

Thanks, Callie. That should help, and I see Matt has already responded.

I started with version 7. I still have the envelope and three 3-1/2" floppies (two for BIAB and one for Pro Tracks Pro Audio v. 1.0). I remember fooling with it for a while, writing to rave about a vibraphone solo generated by the Soloist, and getting a reply directly from Dr. Gannon. What I don't recall is how I heard about it. Was it being advertised in Keyboard Magazine?

I remember finding Bob Notes Norton from a small yellow ad he placed in Electronic Musician. That ad benefitted PG Music as well, for name recognition.

I'm sure my first purchase was because of an ad in Keyboard magazine, which I subscribed to.
I wish I had kept the Atari. I kept the disks.
