There are times when I purchase a commercial GM/SMF and in PowerTracks the drum track misses beats/instruments or doesn't sound at all. Files I get from MIDI-Hits often do this and I needed to address this because, otherwise, their files are very accurate and don't exhibit this behavior in some other DAWS or players (although, sometimes they do). I have come up with a number of fixes for these files over the years but the one that seems to work the quickest in PT is to first quantize the entire drum track at 32nd or 32nd-triplet FOR THE DURATIONS. If the results of that are not satisfactory, undo and requantize for durations AND the note start. Don't forget to save the file.
