Totally unprepared for this, but I received my new toy today. My great wifey told me to buy myself a valentine present. Which I did (as if I needed a reason to buy another guitar). Unboxed, tuned let it climatize for all of an hour, retuned and started practicing my rendition of Larry Gatlin's song "Help Me". Wifey broke out the tablet and recorded this, no editing, raw, unplugged, this is gonna be one sweet guitar for solo gigs. Ibanez ac240 acoustic electric, solid mahogany top, straight out of the box.

Forgive the mess and the appearance of yours truely, prolly won't make the cover of youtube magazine.

Hi,

I get a version of that song by Kenny Rogers and I like it a lot.
You have really well played and sing it.

Great Ibanez sound.

Hi Robert,

I like the appearance, especially the part where your wife goes down to your feet.
Well played and sung. Your new guitar sounds good.
Is that an Ibanez Bass behind your head. Looks familiar
to me.
More of these, please.

Hey Guys, thanks for checking out the video. Larry Gatlin made a lot of $ with that song, simple and heartfelt as it is. That is a Peavey Bass on the wall a Peavey Grind 5. Thanks for noticing. I'll have to watch the video again, a few people have mentioned the feet Guenter.

Nice, Rob. (those Gatlin boys did some great stuff).

So... with 2 other acoustics hanging on the wall... did this one give you a different sound? And is it what you were hoping it would be? (I assume you've play one before?)

Hi FJ,

Yep totally different sound on this little guy. Sounds and plays a lot like an old Martin OO or OOO18 can't remember which, years have passed. I played one in a Guitar Center about a year back and have had GAS ever since.

The other is a Larrivee Dread, with spruce top and the smaller one is a Washburn mini jumbo with cedar top. The Ibanez has a Mahogany top and will mellow with age, the open pore finish on it should help speed the process a bit.

Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hi Rob,
Blessed are you with a wife not jealous of your music and guitars, and moreover who accepts the camera tripod role.

Take care of her !!!

Man, Happy Valentine's Day to You!!! Great job!

Hey I have an idea. You sound so great on that new guitar you probably don't have time to play the ones hanging behind your head anymore, so if you want me to help you clear up some space in your studio, I can send you my address and you can send them to me and I will take good care of them for you.

Just trying to be a really nice guy and watch out for my buddies on BIAB forum. Well, just let me know.

Seriously though, great job!!!

Great performance Rob, good luck with the new guitar, tone sounds good.

Just noticed that nice looking cherry ES-335 on wall, the real deal or a copy.?

On the lookout for a copy myself, epiphone dot in my price range, just sounding out peoples opinions of them.

Caloo,

I agree I am blessed with a lovely wife who loves music, and does a pretty good tripod impersonation.

Thanks.

David, everytime I pare down the herd I end up buying another one. I do appreciate your concern for my studio space etc. The only real problem is affording the constant string changes. So it would be easier if you just send me about $50.00 per month to offset the cost of that expense. Less freight costs that way........

LOL

Hi Musiclover, the cherry is a copy, I sold most of my expensive stuff years ago. Mostly a hobbyist now. FYI, it is a Jay Turser JT-133. I actually like it better than the Epiphone dots that I've played. At some point it's all a matter of preference.

Man, there is nothing I hate worse than changing strings. I dread it! I have a special string changing workshop where it is like "Ok, let's just go do this thing," and I grit my teeth and do like three at once, then I'm "Whew, that should do it for another year."

I use Elixirs on everything. Hate changing strings. Hate it, hate it, hate it.

smile

So there!!

You should still send your guitars though.
