Mel,

BIAB/RB write very little to the registry. As far as I understand it, it's mostly about fonts needed for display. A couple of other additions to the programs such as Amplitube and Sampletank also need to use the registry.

For the last 10 years, I have always installed new versions of the program straight on top of older versions.... I have never once bothered with trying to 'uninstall'. When I've changed computers, I have simply copied the whole \bb folder and all subfolders to my new computer. Once copied, I then run the minimum install to load what's needed into the registry. Then it's just a matter of re-directing BIAB/RB to the Realdrums and Realtracks folders (these settings are under Options).

What folder did you put the program in? If you installed to a sub-folder of "Program Files" or "Program Files(x86)", it will most likely lead to problems. PG Music recommend that BIAB and RB are installed off the root directory.... eg. x:\bb, x:\Realband (where x: is a hardrive).

Try renaming "intrface.bbw" and "mysetup.dk" in your BB folder. This is the ultimate version of "return to factory settings". I'd rename them to "intrface.bbw.old" and "mysetup.dk.old". This makes it easy to find the files again if you want to restore them. Note that there is no 'e' or 'a' located with the 'r' in "intrface.bbw".

Renaming the above, forces BIAB to re-create new versions of the files when the program is started. This may well solve your problems. After starting the program, you will need to go into to Options and set the path for Realtracks and Realdrums. These settings are under "Opt | Preferences | Realtracks" and "Opt | Preferences | Realdrums"

Regards,
Noel
