I have (and occasionally use) the Coolsoft Virtual MIDI Synth as well. It makes it easy to use soundfonts without needing a Creative card (nor being limited by soundcard memory), and it operates as a synth port (not a DXi or VSTi), so you can select it even from apps that don't support DXi/VSTi, yet still get soundfont functionality.

I've not tried the Timbres of Heaven soundfont, but will download it and give it a try. Thanks for posting this. I generally use the 32MB Reality Soundfont.
