This is our version of this seventeenth century ballad, also known as Child Ballad 126.
The song file was available in the EverythingPak 2015. But we did a lot of editing on it, using RTs and Soundfont midi files.
If you listen closely you'll notice that, with every verse an instrument is added.
In that era songs tended to repeat the verse again and again (they lacked a real chorus).
In this case there were 12 verses, we chose to use only 8.

Hope you like it, any comments are welcome.

Rob and Anne-Marie

Rob and Anne-Marie, again you've excelled with both your versatility and ability to deliver quality from such a broad spectrum of music. This new genre proves that beyond doubt.

Your video captures the medieval spirit perfectly, and this is further complimented by the build you have introduced throughout the song.

Another first class delivery!

Beautifully done. Superb vocal and a really great arrangement perfectly evoking the period.
You showed great imagination in putting that together. Of course the video was a great accompaniment.

This is simply outstanding. I loved it. Quick question, what do you mean when you say the song file is available in the Everything PAK? Where do I find these song files?

Hi Rob & Anne-Marie.

Loved it!

Made me think of John Renbourn and Pentangle, if you go back that far.

Super arrangement - very clever building of the parts.

Great vocals, too.

Very, VERY, nice.

Nice work... I liked the way you built it up as it goes along.

Thanks for pointing out there are folk songs in the everything pack.... not that I'll use them but nice to know they are there. One never knows....

Good job.

That was very cool. Loved words wound their way around the melody. I also loved the way the song built up as each verse progressed.

Like others have said the build was very effective,
the vocals were great and the imagery well illustrated
the period. We would like to add that the very interesting
selection of RT's not only sounded fine but further shows
the amazing versatility of BIAB in the hands of talented
musicians.

Well done!!

Terrific arrangement and vocals/harmonies.
Love how you layered it as it goes along.
To me it has a wonderful theatrical vibe like a folk song in a broadway play.
