Am using DAW mode in BiaB 2016 to drag and drop WAV files into Sonar Platinum as audio tracks. Works perfectly except I get two copies of the audio on each track. The first one renders in Sonar and creates a new Sonar track, then 30 seconds or so later a second render event appears and a second copy is placed in the new track, right on top of the first copy. If I delete the one on top, everything is fine, but I must be doing something wrong. Just can't figure out what. Any ideas? Thx!

That happens here too. No figuring it out. Just have to delete one of the copies.

Ron,
Have you tried holding CTRL+SHIFT and then dragging the "Master" track to Sonar? This should drag all tracks as individual files.

should have mentioned this is the reaper. Only happens sometimes. Never figured it out.

Please help us to duplicate and diagnose this by providing the following information:
1) what are all the settings in your DAW Plugin, Options dialog box
2) what are the exact steps you use to drag 'n drop
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Is it because a stereo track is imported to two mono tracks in Sonar?
In some DAWs the MONO assignment of the initial track is applied to the rest of the imported tracks.

I have seen similar things..... but worse.
If I'm trying to drag one track or copy/paste one track into Sonar.... I end up with a bunch of tracks coming in and most of them contain nothing. IIRC this was from Real Band since I don't very often hear a BB track that I really want to keep. I would highlight ONE track that I wanted to drag or copy and move it to Sonar. I'd end up with the track I wanted and normally about 10 others, all blank.
It is for that reason I switched to allowing the tracks to be rendered and created in a new folder. Only one track is created, and then I import them one by one.... works like a charm.
I got tired of cleaning up unwanted tracks in Sonar every time.

Noel Noel, yes, makes no difference if I drag all tracks via CTRL-SHFT or drag individual tracks.

In some DAWs the MONO assignment of the initial track is applied to the rest of the imported tracks. Don't think so. Bass tracks are imported as mono, most other tracks as stereo, without input by me. But imported twice either way...

Ron,
I just tried drag and drop in Reaper. After the rendering process, I was asked if I wanted to place the audio on a single track or multiple tracks. I chose multiple tracks. It worked normally for me... just one audio file per track.
Are any of your tracks frozen?

Are you dragging the BIAB track directly into SONAR without first dropping into the drop box WAV. If so a double track can happen. First drag the track into the WAV section of the drop box (top left hand corner of BIAB) and keep your mouse pointer in the WAV section until it turns green. Then drag from this WAV section to Sonar. Early versions of BIAB allowed a direct drag but 2015 and 2016 version do not. Re F

Are you dragging the BIAB track directly into SONAR without first dropping into the drop box WAV. If so a double track can happen. First drag the track into the WAV section of the drop box (top left hand corner of BIAB) and keep your mouse pointer in the WAV section until it turns green. Then drag from this WAV section to Sonar.
Early versions of BIAB allowed a direct drag but 2015 and 2016 version do not.

That explains it. No issue if I drag the Master to the drop box and then drag the green WAV box to Sonar. Must have been remembering an earlier version--it's been a while! THANKS!

My experience - yes this has changed somewhere over the past couple versions. Used to drag and drop into Reaper directly (track by track or the master to individual) with no issues. Then some time back the doubles started to happen.
But I have never seen a consistent fix. I can still drag and drop directly - just not all the time. There is a ghost in the code. However this is not a problem given that I long ago learned to work with BIAB despite its idiosyncrasies.
