This site has a lot of classical music in GM MIDI: http://www.classicalarchives.com/midi.htmlAll MIDI files are free and can be DLed for listening and/or printing the scores. I though that many of us would enjoy this. Note that this is not a free site. Sorry for the misinformation and any inconvenience that I may have caused. I just looked at the main screen and was told by a fellow musician that this was a legal and free site. It is not free! That first page is very misleading.

I listened to three 1 minute excerpts then it looked like a membership was required to hear the entire piece of music. Starting with a 14 day free trial. Did I miss something?

Never mind. There's a couple of options that seem reasonable.
If one wanted, could just sign up for a month, $7.99, gives you 100 MIDI files a day, or the Free Membership gives you 5 free MIDI files a day.

I have 8000 midifiles I could compress to one file and upload to my drive if someone is interested.. Contain all kind of music, included classical... Most sorted in folders.

Still, that site offers an impressive collection of classical music. And actually: entering classical pieces is even more time consuming than popmusic (and nobody's car doesn't drive on open source or is propelled by freeware). I don't mind buying a midi file that save hours of time to enter.
