Your songs remind me of Burt Bacharach's and Dionne Warwick's... poppy and uplifting!

You tend to write melodic songs with chordal harmonies, and in my opinion you could probably omit the solos entirely... that type of song (at least as it manifested in the 70s) tended to be singer-focused, and therefore didn't have the solos that were the norm in musician virtuoso focused music. Instead of solos, those songs tend to have strong hooks/recurring motifs

With your background in barbershop music, which is also singer focused, it makes sense that you'd zero in on such songs, as it plays to your strengths. If I had one suggestion to make, it would be to focus on hooks in your songs. You have the chords, melody and singing all nailed!
