I've had BIAB for years and have never run into this problem before: I recorded a melody via keyboard and some of the notes don't play. I check the velocity and placement of the notes and the note length and they all match with notes that are playing...any suggestions for explaining and resolving this would be much appreciated...

Hi mantraman,
Welcome to the forums.
Is there anything about your system that has changed since last time the recording process worked? For example, new computer, new antivirus software, running the program from USB, new sound system/software, etc....

No. It recorded the melody, but it's just that some notes aren't sounding, or are sounding incorrectly, considering the listed velocity...

What sound are you using for playback? Is it one that has a slow attack? If notes are played too quickly, sometimes instruments like violin are unable to play a sound before it's time to move on to the next sound.

Hi Noel -- The problem isn't because of the chosen sound, unfortunately (though that is a good guess!)
I've always used a vibraphone sound -- or piano or sax -- because they generally cut through arrangements nicely and can be heard. But all of those sounds have the same problem.

Thanks for the update.
Is there a consistent pattern regarding the notes that do not play? For example, are they all eighth notes, quarter notes, etc?
