I'm not quite sure why this is happening. All of my instruments in DEMO Songs that use MIDI SuperTracks are noisy. I first noticed it when I soloed a bass channel. Then I soloed each channel. Every instrument has the noise. Something that I would have to use a low pass filter to remove. I ended up replacing all MIDI instruments with RealTracks.

Are you using ASIO for audio or MME?

Look in Options -> MIDI/Audio Drivers Setting at bottom right there is an "Audio Settings button" and in parentheses it will say current setting (ASIO or MME).

If ASIO try setting to MME, just for now, to see if noise goes away.

Your problem sounds (no pun) like a digital noise caused by too low ASIO/WDM buffer sizes and or more likely mismatch sample rate on your ASIO driver and your PC.

If it is ASIO then it's NOT a PG or BIAB issue - you need to set your audio drivers properly folks here can help you once we know.

Good Luck

Will try it tomorrow, worked around it by replacing the tracks for now with RealTracks

Also check if there are any effects added to your signal. Some sound sources and sound card/audio interfaces have effects in them.

In fact I was just using a new vocal effect software last night and it had a tone of noise. I traced the problem to the fact that I was adding a little compression via my audio interface while the software had it's compression set to 100%. I turned off the extra compression, lowered the effect's compression and the noise vanished. This may or may not be your problem.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

I figured it must not be in BIAB or an issue for PG music. Sometimes when playing back the .wav or mp3 files rendered from RB I get a static/scratchy playback in WMPlayer. I reinstalled the Focusrite driver for Win 10 from their website several times. It seemed to work for a while then it started the scratchy sound again. I have unplugged the interface and plugged it back in and the sound is normal. I'm stumped. Changed ASIO to MME. Using a Focusrite 2i4 on a windows 10 PC. how do I set the audio drivers properly.

Let us know if MME works and then we can take it from there.

I set both BIAB and RB to MME. I don't seem to be having the same problem. On Playback of any song initially there will be noise. Sweetwater engineer told me it is possibly the USB cable ferrite choke that is not strong enough. I went out and got a new USB cable with 2 chokes one on each end. noise stopped.

Glad it's not making noise now but

what exactly is this USB cable hooked to (from what TO what) that it would cause when playing BIAB MIDI Supertracks and no other BIAB MIDI files or other BIAB files??

new wrinkle on what you were doing when you had noise

From Computer USB port to the Focustrite. The distortion that I heard from the SuperTracks was eliminated when I changed from ASIO to MME. The other totally distorted sound during playback was any audio file being played through the Focusrite interface. When I unplugged the focusrite and played through the Computer speakers the noise went away. I replaced my old and almost 10 foot USB cable with a 6 foot cable with 2 chokes on it one on both ends.
