Well I need to find out from Focusrite if in fact my firmware was also updated with this driver install.

Because I still have a small problem
When I open up BIAB for the first time after starting my computer up, the playback has zero volume. But, then I go to the next file and it plays. VERY strange.
Restart my computer same behavior, first file no sound next one back to normal. Play starts just no sound on the first file.

I also have that same problem! So, it is nothing to do with the driver; I didn't install that here (yet), I just went with disabling fast boot to fix the other problem.

Not sure where to look. It is only BIAB at this end. If, after I boot, I play a WAV file or MP3 it plays just fine. But, same as you, the first time I play within BIAB, no sound.

I had BIAB 2016 working fine on my old computer (running Vista and an M-AUDIO Delta-44 soundcard), in fact I've had many versions of BIAB running on many computers over many years and never had this particular problem.

So, something funny going on! I'll play this morning and will update if I figure it out.

UPDATE: After a fresh (slow) boot this morning everything worked fine, including the first play on a BIAB project. No idea why I had the problem yesterday?

2-7 seconds depending on the state of the monitor. If I turn the monitor on first, and disable the virus scan at boot up its 2 seconds. If I have the virus scan set to monitor browser settings it takes about 7 seconds.

I hope others will read all the way through this post. When I got my first windows10 update, my driver issue resurfaced and Focusrite sent me an email in response to informing them of my distortion problem.

Roll the driver back. Here is the complete correspondence.

Hello David,

Thank you for your email.

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with your unit, but happy to help!

Glitchy audio or drop out issues like this are usually down to things like optimization problems, driver conflicts, or other types of software issues.

I suspect you already have done this but please make sure you follow all the steps in this Optimize your PC for Audio guide.
https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207355205-Optimising-your-PC-for-Audio-on-Windows-10

Go to your computer or motherboard manufacturer website and perform any and all updates such as BIOS, Chipsets, USB Controllers, Network Adapters, Video Cards, etc. These simple updates often solve odd issues such as this.

If you have a motherboard with any Intel parts on it you may also want to run the Automatic Driver Update from Intel. Sometimes I see situations where the computer manufacturer may not have all the latest drivers for each individual part listed. Often Intel has even newer drivers for many parts in your computer that can solve audio problems.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

I also see you are using the 3.2.2 driver. I want to remove this and try the current main release 2.5.2 driver.

1) With the Scarlett connected please open the Control Panel > System > Device Manager. Locate the Scarlett under Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.

2) Right click the Scarlett and choose Uninstall. Make sure to check the box to remove software for the device.

3) You will see the unit disappear from the list. Unplug the unit and plug it back in. It should reappear in the list.

4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the Scarlett appears with a yellow exclamation mark, and/or the properties says Code 10. The Properties > Driver tab will likely say a Microsoft driver is in use. This means all the drivers are removed.

5) Next go to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program. Uninstall any Focusrite USB Audio Driver, Scarlett Family Audio Drivers or Scarlett MixControl you find here.

6) All Focusrite drivers are now removed. Please reinstall this driver.

Please let me know how you come along after this. If the glitchy audio continues I will want to run some deeper diagnostics to help you further.

Best regards.
