In the prefs > channels dialogue, is a list of midi channels assigned to the tracks, eg. Bass = 2 etc. (These are either the defaults or user set).

When assigning a vst plugin instrument, I need to point it at the midi channel appropriate to the track I am using it on e.g, a bass plugin would need to be output to midi channel 2, and although the track names are listed in the vst picker dialog box, I can never remember the order of the channels numbers.

(I've printed them out numerous times but somehow the printout always disappears at the time I need it).

I know I could change the prefs defaults to 1,2,3,4 etc but I don't want to change the defaults as I might muck up drums (C10) etc.

So ...

In the VST plugin picker, could the track name also show the channel number (pulled from the prefs data) that it is currently set to.

It'd make life much easier and a ten minute fix I would imagine as the channel numbers must be assigned globally.

Cheers. Mike.
