It is meant to lock that way, Sandra - to make it harder to steal. I presume you also have a U lock to go through the wheel and the forks and lock it?

Crash bars on the side would be a good addition (and would also help to protect your legs in the event of an accident), kind of like 'roo' bars in Australia or cattle bumpers on a car in South Africa (or Texas?).

I don't know where you live in Vienna, in which district? Do you not have an 'Innenhof' in your building? If not, I suggest you find the nearest garage and flirt a little. Garages always have enough space for bikes that is rarely, if ever, used.

I always used the main stand too but sometimes, on a slope for example, it didn't hold and the bike fell over. Never caused much more trouble than some slight damage to the end of the handlebars. I don't mean to scare you but you may also be the victim of some kind of revenge / persecution attack, in which case I would call the police as soon as possible
