In addition to the excellent advice already provided, often if you connect a USB 3 device to a USB 2 Port you receive a message that the device can perform faster if connected to a USB 3 port. Of course, your computer must have USB 3 port capability, in your case, apparently yes. I'm still a little surprised that the cable has two USB connectors.

Audiophile or standard version?

The second cable in the 'Y' connector is only provided to supply an additional current source to the drive. You should use it if possible, it cannot hurt anything.
