As a strong singer I usually force the melody to conform to my way of interpreting the melody. I often wind up with a variation in one of the middle choruses, or while settling on how to phrase a lyric I may end up with the bridge. Take an entire verse apart and use some of its parts its parts (only 2 lines) and create a bridge like that.

If I want to rearrange the bridge, as a guitarist, usually sticking to rhythm when singing. I use a turn around in the bridge to vary the end is a different chord than the beginning of the verse, or chorus.

BIAB gives me a huge palate of ideas, I can listen to a few DEMO songs in a similar style I have chosen. Cut and Paste 12 or 16 bars from the demo after I change it to the Key my song is in.

One trick here is set BIAB preference to run more that one BIAB song at a time. SO I have both songs open.
