If you click on the "Chord Display" button in the toolbar, you willl se a drop down menu.
One of the menu items is "Layers...", from that sub-menu you can select "Bar Lyrics".

This will only display lyrics which are in the proper format (Bar based), so all of your older songs may not display properly at first, and may need to be converted.

There is an option somewhere to automatically convert lyrics to "Bar based" I will have to look around and see if I can remember where to find that, if you can't find it.

Edit : found the setting to automatically convert lyrics.

If you open the preferences dialog window, and hit the "Overrides" button, there is a menu selection that can set how older lyrics are imported and converted.
