I run BIAB 2014 from my laptop and customised the real tracks to fit on my C drive. This was complicated and time consuming (with help from support). My question is - when I upgrade to 2016 PRO, will I lose all the customised files and need to redo them? If so, is there a folder where I can find them and make a copy so I can bring it in to the new version?

I think you might want to call Support on this also, because some RealTracks have been updated since then. And I'm not sure whether you are talking about editing the raw audio of RealTracks, or perhaps making custom RealStyles. Could you elaborate please?

By customising I only mean that I only ported across the real track components I needed for my fave Jazz styles. As you know many components ( certain drums, bass, piano etc) are used in many different styles.

Ok. Yes, I did much the same, only copying those RealTrack folders I know I want on my faster internal SSD drive. I know I can always switch to the external drive by a few changes in Preferences. You also have to copy the .ST2 and .XT2 files from the /bb folder.
If you are asking whether the installer would only update those RealTracks that are present, I'm positive the answer is No. It will load all or none depending on the choice you make in Setup.

so if I choose to load "none", do I still have to reload indvidual files I need ? from where, my old folder? the BIAB site?

Yes. You could do it from the supplied PG Music external drive, or from your old BIAB location. The RealTracks folders are in X:/bb/RealTracks

You can always place the custom files into a folder with a unique name. That way, when you do the upgrade, nothing gets overwritten.
Since you're running a laptop, I would suggest doing the minimum install and run the program from the external hard drive.
BTW: there is plenty of room on the factory hard drive for you to copy your custom files folder onto it as well so they're all in one place and easily accessible to you for your projects. Loading files from the factory drive won't slow you down.
