anyone have ideas for a band name for us. i figure there are creative people here. we are playin for a friends birthday in bit and need a name. its just fun. nothin serious. had been callin us illin-boys like how people say illinoiz. sounds to much like a rap band or somethin and i hate it anyway. we have 4 guys. play brad paisley chesney luke blake that stuff. keep it clean. someone said 4play. dont wanna sound pervy. gonna try the computer for a few songs. sounds good with it for filler sounds. an extra guitar here and there sounds good.

These are dangerous threads. They certainly bring out the whimsical side in many of us. Something like 'Free Beer' comes to mind, if you want to attract an audience. But I would never make such a suggestion, except perhaps your own: "Brats 'n Beer"

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Here's a few ideas,
Bonfire or Bonfire Brats
Fox River
X Tractor
Steel Plow
New Crop
The Truck Ups
Tailgates N Coolers
Legal To Drive
Wabash Levee
Prairie Wind

Remember you can't use another company, band, or artist's name which is trademarked in your band's name. This will become important when you start selling merchandise because you can and will be sued. Also you don't want to be confused with other bands so pick something unique to you. Whatever name you come up with be sure that it's not already taken and trademarked.

BTW, just FYI, Free Beer was a band on a major label that didn't make it big - they were actually pretty good. I met them in Nashville years ago. The name didn't work very well as the audience tended to actually expect free beer.... smile

hey thanks to all who gave name suggestions. read the list to the guys and we took parts from a few. went with da beer and brats band. almost went with da beer and brats boys but didnt think it said what we did being a band an all. first show was a little nuts in a good way. a little alcohol to calm the nerves helped. we had some good laughs at the names yall came up with. its a good bunch here.

That's funny. About 10 years ago I had done some recording sessions with a few guys from all over the state and we had called ourselves Illin' Noize Boys.

A friend of mine belongs to a "Big Band" here in Calgary that specializes in "Jazz and swing era favorites". It's called SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY.
