I used three BIAB styles (Soft Country, EMO Strings, Country Rock) to create this track. I played an Ibanez AS73 for the arpeggiated guitar part. This mix is part of a series of learning experiments for me with Logic Pro X, which I purchased last week and am having great fun learning. Let me know what you think of the song and arrangement.

A Place in Your Heart
Lyrics and Music © 2001, Tony L. Glenn

Verse 1
There’s not much more I can say ---------You know I want you to stay
I know you need to - be free to live your own life girl
But You’ll see it’s hard to find, a love that’s true in this old world---So

Chorus
Try to keep a place in your heart
Just a corner for me
A place where you’ll hold memories
Of us the way we used to be - Oh,
Will you keep a place in your heart
That’s all I ask you to do,
And if you want to come back I’ll keep
All my heart for you.

Verse 2
I guess there’s no use to plead.
Your instincts tell you this is what you need
I won’t stand in your way—I know you need your space to grow
And I knew this day would come—when I first held you years ago—but,

Chorus 2
Will you keep a place in your heart
Just a corner for me
A place where you’ll hold memories
Of us the way we used to be - Oh,
Say you’ll find a place in your heart
That’s all I ask you to do,
And if you want to come back I’ll keep
All-----my--heart----for you.

Bridge
I’m gonna miss you darlin---When you walk away
But I’ll be better able, to let you go if you’ll just say------

Partial Chorus
That you’ll keep a place in your heart
That’s all I ask you to do,
And if you want to come back I’ll keep
All----my heart--------

Say you’ll keep a place in your heart
Just a corner will do,
And if you want to come back I’ll keep
All----my----heart----for you.

Very, very nice!! The music has a great flow (great progression and arrangement) and the lyrics are very well done. You did a lot better on the vocal than on the first two I heard. This is definitely my fave of yours. Great job Tony!! Take care. Greg

Thanks so much Greg. I'm trying a lot harder these days. I've written hundreds of songs that no one has ever heard. Just trying to get them out there as gracefully as possible. Peace my friend!

Nice one Tony. How do you like your AS73? I have one and love it. Is that a chorus on that guitar track? It's got a nice shimmer to it.

Bob

Regards,

what Bob said! That guitar part really sets the pace for the rest of the rhythm section, and it gives the whole song a signature sound! VERY catchy!

And I agree with Greg that this is your best one yet!

I have a request: how about changing your profile so that your location (North Carolina) shows up under your avatar in every post? If we NC musicians are gonna stick together, we need to make it obvious whos who.

Hey Bob. I love the AS73. It plays so nicely. Yes I put some chorus on the VOX VT20X Amp I used. I mic'd the amp with two Behringer B2 microphones set at different distances from the same amp - so a stereo effect from a single amp with chorus. Thanks for your kind comment.

I'll sure do that about the NC thing Pat. Let me see if I can figure out how to make that happen. I'd love to know who all are in my region. Would be great to connect at some point wouldn't it. Maybe an NC BIAB user's mini fest!

Tony,
I think this is the first of your songs I've heard. Very nicely done. Good write. Your guitar sounds perfect in the mix.

Very nice. I think it's a good write and certainly a top notch arrangement and performance. Enjoyed my listen.
