To me, it gave visions of a ‘Deliverance country chantey’ This type of song suites your voice and style to the rafters. The whole arrangement was crisp, just as good as was the choice of instruments. Merlefest was FULL of artists who are currently recording and touring with music very similar to this! And that crowd moves around, playing at all of the big music festivals... which means that these retro styles are coming back... maybe not to pop radio, but certainly to music festivals and other venues where older crowds tend to congregate.
