Good post, John. I agree completely especially that guitarist, what a player. Sadly, you're old meetings, crime scenes etc are what gave you your nice retirement. Being a music pro probably would not have done that. Back in the day I made it further than most and still I was not even close to having a real career and had to give it up. I was reading an interview with Phil Woods and he said it was almost criminal that colleges and universities encourage young people to get degrees in music. Literally thousands graduate every year, a lot of them are totally awesome players with nowhere to go. Complete waste of time and resources in the modern world.
