It does have a playfully mysterious feel Chris! I could imagine it in a light-hearted spy film (ala Peter Sellers). Guitar solo feels a little heavy for the feel of the song. It is catchy and well done! Take care. Greg

Nice stuff but the effect on the keyboard melody is to heavy and created a very delayed harmony note that's distracting.
the guitar solo is played well but the tone doesn't match the rest of the song - it neither complements nor contrasts in an effective way.
A couple of simple tweaks would have this in much better nick.

Cheers

I really like the dream piano patch... I take it that's you playing?

One of the things that always interests me in listening to the songs posted here is the way each person chooses to pick and combine instruments in a song.

I am a musical anarchist... I don't generally put a lot of stock in "rules" ... if something sounds good, I figure it *is* good.

Having said that, I have to agree with Greg that the guitar solo takes the song somewhere else than the mellow piano led me to expect.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I thought the same thing about many of the 70s ballads in which a rockin' guitar was added, and those songs were quite well received.

So I guess I speak only from personal preference in saying that the dreamy piano left me hoping for an equally dreamy guitar... but you chose something else. And in a way I'm glad to have my expectations jarred a bit. It's what makes music interesting.

Hey Christian, congratulations for this other good piece !
I don't follow the forum very closely these days because I am currently preparing a show with real musicians. So no new achievemenst with BiaB either...

Hi Chris,

This was good stuff, not once did you lose your way, the theme stayed melodically constant, and never disjointed, the instruments used, and when, and where you brought them in, was excellent.
You have ‘the ear’
I think, hope, you are going provide some good things to the forum if this is your standard.

Hi Chris37, Well done! - I like the piano/pad sound thats there, it adds a very eerie tone to it all. It comes together really well once the guitar solo starts!

Chris37 - what a fun song to listen to! I agree with Greg - it starts off with a mysterious feel... I can easily imagine it as part of a soundtrack to a James Bond Movie!

This song is now the "Hot Forum Topic" for today!
