To the Developers of Band In A Box,

When highlighting any amount of bars to loop, and then going to the menu to select “Play and loop highlighted area”, this works fine, but only until one stops playback, then one has to go back and reselect the bars to do the same thing over again. This is simply cumbersome to have to grab one’s mouse again, reselect the bars, go to the menu and re-select “Play and loop highlighted area”. Did the BIAB developers intentionally program it this way?

Surely when playing/practicing any instrument and trying to focus on a given passage or riff, the LESS one has to do whether it is use one’s mouse or hitting more than one sequence of computer key commands to initiate playback the way one has already spent time doing – is simply VERY cumbersome when it comes to efficient music practice.

Ie, anyone who is practicing a given riff at a given tempo on a loop for instance may want to stop playback to practice that riff slowly or rubato before picking up again where one left off. As a music teacher, I know this is what many students do when practicing any given difficult passage of music - and practicing it well! SO, having to repeat the above steps every time one stops playback on a loop is extremely cumbersome!

For the people who didn't see my original post about LOST FUNCTIONALITY OF BIAB 2016. As someone who uses BIAB regular to practice jazz progressions, the above lost functionality ties in direct to something even more basic - but is similar to what I mentioned above.

I.E., THE PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPERS AND UPDATERS OF BIAB NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE WAY ANY DEDICATED STUDENT OF MUSIC PRACTICES MUSIC. PLEASE, PLEASE SIMPLIFY THE PLAYBACK COMPUTER KEY FUNCTIONS OF BAND IN A BOX!

Here is the post again:
------------------------
to all BIAB users who use it mainly as a wonderful practice tool,

I posted this in the "Wishlist" post as well, but think this is something that should be addressed ASAP in a new build in the existing version for BIAB 2016 (both Mac and Windows versions):
------------------------------------------------
It has been a while since I upgraded, but noticing while it is nice to have the spacebar stopping and starting playback (as opposed to older "x" for start and "escape" for stop) and 2 options for the way it works within preferences in the latest version of BIAB, a most basic functionality is no longer available.

For the sake of not having to use one's mouse to fuss with playback - it is no longer possible with BIAB 2016 to select (click) a bar number and and have the music ALWAYS start at that quickly highlighted bar when hitting the space bar. The only options available in Preferences: it either a) starts only from the beginning, or b) plays from the current bar where the music STOPS.

the older versions of BIAB, one could quickly click on any given bar, press "X" and no matter how far into that passage or further into the song one played, when stopping the music, when pressing "X" again, the music would always start from the bar that you originally clicked on. Surely, I am not the only practicing this way?!

It is simply no longer possible to do this on BIAB 2016, short of double clicking on the same bar with one's mouse or track pad - which is a pain when one wants to be focussed on learning to play any given number of bars of music repeatedly from the same spot no matter where you tell the music to stop playback. Ie, key commands are where it is at, and the simplicity of just hitting the space bar only ONCE from the selected bar (so it always started from THAT BAR and does not recommence playback at the current bar where playback was stopped, or from the beginning) is surely a useful way to practice for many people using BIAB. Even if one has to hit a different key to stop playback, this basic functionality would be an asset if it were to return to BIAB 2016.

Could this not be added to preferences as third option of playback functions in a new build for BIAB 2016 for Mac, but of course specifically with the space bar if possible?
