Sorry to say this is an old item which has been discussed here in the past. It has been documented and reported. Workarounds are available.

Hmmm, thanks JMD. But I think this is different. The other post you referenced stated:

That's not the case here. The files all have different names. So why would a file with a different name be deleted?

Is this the same thing you are referring to? Files with different names being deleted?

If so, I wonder if PG can make a statement if this is a deliberate design feature, and explain why? If there is a reason, I can't think what it is.

Moreover, if it has been documented and reported and nothing has been done to resolve it, that makes the problem even worse!

This is a good example of why I try and restrict my use of BIAB to just the basics of track generation. I find the quicker I can get my tracks out of BIAB and into something more stable the better off I am.
