Population of Australia 2016: 24,309,330.
Population of US 2016: 324,118,787.
That's only 300 million more. Plus Oz has no common borders for people to sneak across carrying who knows what. You guys are very fortunate as far as this issue is concerned.
It's impossible to have a government large enough to enforce a gun control policy like that in the US. Europe has a similar policy to Australia's and look what's going on there. It's because terrorists have no problem sneaking military grade stuff into Europe either.
This isn't the place for a gun control debate, I'm simply pointing out a few things. Peace
