I need to send a version of my RealBand project to a collaborator who uses Cubase. What's the best way to save and send my project so that they get all the relevant info, incl chords, tempo, etc.? My project has both audio and MIDI. Thx.

First question is do you have Cubase?
Drag/drop to there, or export each track to its own file and you or he can import to Cubase.
There may be an easy way to get the chords over, but I don't know about it.

Tano,
I'm not sure if the below thoughts will be useful because I suspect that I'm not properly understanding your situation. I'm posting them, though, on the off chance that they might be.
I notice you added "not mixing" to your Shout Box comment. If this means that your friend is only using the tracks so that s/he can perform a vocal track for you to mix, then you'd only need to send over a single track that's a compiled backing.
With electronics, tempos should match. That is, if you have it set at 120 bpm in Realband, that should exactly match 120 in Cubase. Again, though, if your friend is simply recording vocals against a backing and you've provided the backing, tempo settings shouldn't matter.
I don't know Cubase at all. If it reads XML, though, that might be a way to get the chord information to your friend. Alternatively, teh chords could be printed as a Leadsheet (pdf) and emailed.
Regards, Noel

To get the chords into Cubase: Save a copy of your real band SEQ song as SGU Open SGU with band in a box Open Preferences - Output Chords Check Output chords Chord Types - Complex Ticks before chord change 0 Check Write track to midi file Save Song As midi Open midi in real band Drag export BB Chord Output track Set tempo in Cubase Set 2 bar offset in project settings Drag in BB Chord Output.mid Insert Chord Track Select midi track - Project - Chord Track - Make chords Then just drag all the other midi/wav/wma tracks into Cubase
There in a PNOSIMP style to give held midi chords but they are weird chords Cubase don't recognize. You can also while you are in real band or band and a box save chord sheet as video that you can open in Cubase.

I have used RB to collaborate with other musicians who don't use it. All I did was save each track that I used as a wav file and sent those. For the chords, I just created a video for them. (as pipeline noted).
The only thing you have to worry about is getting the tracks to line up. If you have a track that wasn't recorded from the beginning of the song, use the "consolidate audio region" from the tracks menu. This will add "silence" to fill out the track.

If you both have BB/RB, simply save the MGU or the SEQ file from either and send it.
MGU is small and can attach to an email. SEQ files have audio so they will be much larger. Use a free large file transfer server such as DropBox and share a folder.
If you are working with folks who do not use PG products, simply go into BB or RB and export the individual tracks as waves and use Dropbox.
You can print and scan the chord chart or attach the file as an email attachment. Both work IIRC.
HOWEVER..... when I'm working on a song collab, one person in the project gets designated as the mixing engineer. That person gets the wave tracks. When I'm asking someone to play or sing a part, I send them an MP3 of the basic tracks so they can record their part. Using MP3 where possible saves time.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
