As promised to Joanne, Pat and Neil here is a link to a blog I recently finished offering my take on the three eConcert Venues I play: https://www.facebook.com/notes/danny-campo/my-econcert-venue-evaluation/1030175187069406I hope this is helpful to someone, and also hope you decide to get your feet wet regarding online performances. HINT PAT! Later,

Thanks Danny. Very informative and organised! I need to have a go at these sites. I'm currently investigating a specially designed cable that takes a mixer audio out (stereo hi-fi output) to a smartphone in. Useful for running simultaneous headphone type shows on eg streetjelly and send the sound to eg Periscope.

Excellent review Danny!
Based on what I've seen as a visitor (not performer) I had already formed very similar opinions about all 3 places. Your experience on stage filled in the blanks I was unable to determine just from the sidelines.
When I first started looking into Stageit and ConcertWindow, their lack of support for PayPal stopped me in my tracks. I don't like using charge cards online. If I understand correctly, CW now supports PayPal... I couldn't tell from your review whether Stageit does or not, but the last time I visited their site, I didn't see any mention of it.
In the event of future evaluations of such sites, support for PayPal is key to me.... so adding that to your list of reported info makes the review more useful to me.
Based on all the good things you've said about CW, I think I'll be giving them a try pretty soon. Thanks for taking time to write such a well-thought-out review! I found it to be very helpful!

you mention that Stageit has a minimum price of $1 for tickets, but you can send free tickets to friends... I assume that these tickets must be bought for $1 each by the person sending the "free" tickets?
Or am I understanding this incorrectly?

You know Pat, while I have sent some I am not sure if I was charged. I know they only allow 10 free per show, so I am thinking they do not charge the performer. I will check.
Later,

Danny,
I appreciate the time and effort you've put into this evaluation. Also that you are the one who got me hooked up to SJ. Guess I'm too old to try another outlet.
Take care,
Don S.

Hi Danny Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed analysis.
My strategy over the next few months is to continue with my once a week Sunday slot on Streetjelly and then try and grow my audience on Younow, Periscope and Facebook.
I think I am at an advantage that I also have seven albums available on all major digital platforms so awareness for me "should" lead to increased downloads or at least streams on the various platforms. The best digital platforms for me are proving to be Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify.
Neil, I came across an article somewhere that said to try using those cables that you get for your home stereo system. You know the ones with the yellow white and red rca plugs? I seem to be able to plug that straight into my iphone from my mixer (for broadcasting to Periscope). It does seem a little erratic, but it sometimes works beautifully. Now if only I figure when it works and when it doesn't....

Also easy to make your own. I've attached a couple of links that may help you and others here on the forum. This is a very common issue especially for you guys that broadcast.
