The vocals are tight, the lyrics are very similar to the kinds of lyrics in Brian Wilson's early songs, and the chord pattern was also very interesting and appropriate to the style! As mentioned by others, the melody is also original and good for the genre, and I think the crowning glory is your choice of harmonic notes. I have a TCHelicon vocal harmonizer for live gigs, and it's overwhelming how many different kinds of harmonies can be used in a song. This harmony isn't the standard 3rd up that you tend to hear on 75% of songs! As a barber shop guy, I'm sure you are far more aware of harmonic possibilities than most of us, and your Beach Boys series is a good showcase for that knowledge.
