Hi,

Latest version of BIAB for Windows.

Using style _BRITSRR.STY. Classic British Swing 8ths Rock at 130 tempo.

Wanted to add Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 136 set no 8 # 406.

When I add the above guitar and regen it shows as ~~Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120 in the mixer.

What went wrong.

Thanks

Confirmed. I repeated your instructions and got the same mismatch! That ain't right.

Both RTs sit right next to each other, but I was careful and selected the second one and it appears in the mixer as the first one.

Oh, I think I know what is going on. BIAB is selecting the one closest to the 130 tempo. This is actually a feature which can be turned on or off in preferences. Wait - sorry that is not right. the 136 tempo should be closer to the 130. Don't know.....

But surely, the 406 at 136 is closer to 130 than the 120.

Ya, I see that now. Perhaps BIAB is set to select a upward tempo shift instead of a downward tempo shift. Like I said, I don't know. But I think you can tell it "not to substitute" in preferences. Let me look quick.

that was the fix...

Yes, since tempo stretching works better when speeding up compared to slowing down, we somewhat favor RTs that would be sped up.

Have Fun!

I do like the word "stretching" being used for actually the opposite of stretching. smile

(I have looked on the internet, but actually there are very few useful antonyms for stretching in this case.)

Good observation, Guido. It is indeed incongruous to 'stretch' to speed up. But we know what was meant.

Well, Matt, for me English is a "foreign beast" hard to tame and master. Actually it is more like the Hydra of Greek mythology, since there are so many variatons from areas where a form of English is the language used by most people.

That's an interesting observation that 'stretched' is used in all cases. If we were talking about a spring, we'd say it was either stretched or compressed. People probably don't use 'compressed' as the inverse of 'stretched' because 'audio compression' means creating mp3s, etc.

Nah, English is easy. I depends on whether you want to talk about the weather and whether or not it might rain...

I heard it like this .. kind of adds more examples to the saying ..
It depends on whether you're going to talk about their weather or whether it might rain there at your place.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
