Hi guys n gals, Being a jazz guitar teacher, I create plenty of circle of 4ths practicing files. It would make my job and everyone who`s practicing al lot easier, if I could just type a chord into bar one, and then have an option to finish the circle of 4th (or 5ths or whatever) with that exact chord type.
Ideally this would be an option box, where I can chose from: 1.) What cycle (4ths, 5ths, major 3rds, etc) 2.) How many bars (or half bars) for each chord 3.) Option to cut each chord length to half at each new chorus until half bar length is reached. (yes / no option) 4.) Speed up each chorus (this would be the woodshedder option included)
Come on guys, give us a (jazz)musicians practice heaven.
Greeting from Austria (no, we don`t have no damn kangaroos;-) Sandra
I don`t mind kangaroos, I actually love em, they`re super cute. But I`m tired of people mistaking Austria for Australia ;-)
I never thought of that! I have never confused the two countries. Besides I know where the Von Trapp family came from and that country didn't have kangaroos
When you are at the checkout line and they ask if you found everything say "Why, are you hiding stuff?"

Just wanted to make sure we are aware of what BIAB already has:
In the Practice icon, Practice Central, Transpose Songs, you can set each chorus to transpose by X semitones.
I tried it using a chorus of 2 bars (Start=1, End=2), 20 Choruses and a transpose value of 5 semitones as described above.
It sort-of works. I get two bars, then it transposes up a fourth. Then it plays two bars, but sometimes four bars before transposing again around the circle of fourths. I think there is a bug there, possibly caused by such a short "song", but the function shows promise for making your own practice workout routine.

I made a 1-4-5 sequence, key of C, adding 7 semitones every 8 bars. It plays correctly but at bar 8 when it changes to key of G (tried using F5 - change key). It shows V (for the key of C) but I want it to show I (for the key of G). No cigar.

Unfortunately, this feature doesn't work correctly. I've reported this problem many times.
You're welcome Sandra. Before writing my message, I tested this feature and it does seem to be a bit unsteady. I didn't try using a song of more than 2 measures per chorus, though, and that might be OK although Cerio also reported a problem. I hadn't tried it since RealTracks became available. Give it a try first.
