Yes, 'other' was the only word I could think of, but some countries have a 'sister city'... nah...

It would be great if they didn't automatically show and get written in to the tracks, as when I use the melody and solo tracks for midi commands to my external guitar effects and vocal effects those midi instruments send their patch numbers to the units causing chaos until the correct patches load. I don't think clearing the track of midi data command fixes this.

If midi drums aren't there then they are replaced with RealDrums of the same quality.
(For those who need an interpretation: BIAB doesn't replace "no signal" with "sound". I. e. no midi drum no RealDrum.)
It appears that these styles are indeed "qad" generated: Take an existing (midi) style, replace some midi instruments with RealInstruments, mute the other/delete their content and save with a different name and characteristics. Don't bother about cleaning up.
For 99 percent of all users it doesn't matter. For 80 percent of the rest it's annoying and only a few might encounter a problem.
The majority of styles will use midi to one extent or another.
I rarely use these styles. I prefer to start with the styles that use all real tracks so that everything is audio to start with.
Some might argue that doing that is limiting my options, however, I find that I can generally do all I need and edit well enough to get just about anything I need using the audio only styles in BB/RB.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
"ACHARGS.STY" is just two guitars and a harmonica. There are no drums, the Drums track is only used for the count-in (so still shows a patch name). I did notice that a patch name appeared on the Bass track as well, which truly isn't being used for anything. I'll make sure that gets reported.
Charlie, if (in RealBand), you go to Options - Preferences, and click on the Song Generation tab, is the "When generating RealTracks also generate RealChart" box checked? If so, that'll be where those extra MIDI tracks came from.
I've reported it to Support, referencing this thread.
I'll let you know about any replies
Update: I saw that there had been a reply from PGM, but I did say I'd report back what I heard and this is it: "Hi Trevor,
This style doesn't appear to contain drums at all, it's just two acoustic guitar and a harmonica. The drums track just always shows a patch name, even when it's only used for the count-in. The Bass track is also empty but still shows a patch name once playback starts, though it's not being used, I'll make sure that gets reported.
Thank you, Kent PG Music Inc. "
