I just ran my BIAB setup (for my Everything pak - don;t worry they will have same IK stuff included) and the list of things to be installed (or not - becasue you can "uncheck" them) install still includes the free Amplitude VST as part of the install It will be the FREE Amplitube 3 version (not Amplitube 4, since V4 is 64 bit only). It obviously will not have all the gear and amp models since it's the free version but anything that you can still get via the IK Custom Shop for AT3 will work. There are some BIAB styles that use Amplitube. If you don't already have Amplitube, I can't remember if the installer is included in the package (I think it is), but if not, you can get the free Custom Shop (CS) version from IK-Multimedia. But if you look at your UltraPlusPak folders, I think you'll probably find an installer file. Either way, you'll need to authorize your copy with IK-Multimedia. This requires setting up an account at the IK site. Once you have an account and are logged in, you can click on your login name, go to your user area, and then click on My Products. There you should see your registration code for Amplitube 3 Custom Shop (CS). You'll need that to authorize your copy of Amplitube. I can't remember, but you may have to run the IK Authorization Manager to do so, but it should prompt you through what is required. If you look in the BIAB PDF user manual, you'll find more information on using Amplitube with DI guitar tracks on page 103 of the manual.

It's like the ocean. Really big and really deep with lots of things below the surface..... but shallow enough and warm enough to be enjoyed without a whole lot of trouble around the edges.

I'm a new user of Audiophile for Mac and am wondering why the demo of _BOSAAMP.STY Amplitude Bossa Guitar 'Kitschy' has the Amplitube processed sound built in that you can hear in the demo, but when I load that style to my song the Amplitube effect disappears.
The online instructions concerning Amplitube seemed to imply I had to add the plugin, I went thru the whole Amplitude registration and download process, but the plugin icon on my GUI that the 2012 instruction video instructs you to use to 'add the plug in' only sends me back to the same instructional page with the same video. I can't find the same menu in my GUI the 2012 video says is for adding the plug in. I can't find clear instructions in the manual either.
The RT923 guitar that style uses does not come as a DI in the first place - supposedly a requirement of being able to apply Amplitube, making things even more confusing.

Hi Openroad,
It sounds like you may have been watching a video for the Windows version of Band-in-a-Box, not Mac. VST support in the Mac version is on the way, but hasn't been implemented yet.
That guitar RealTrack is pretty clean to begin with, and the Amplitube preset for that style is mostly just for the tremolo and delay effects, so a DI version of the RealTrack isn't really needed.

Thank you. I was thinking that guitar sound was pretty clean anyway too. But it doesn't answer why the demo of the 'Amplitude' real track has the effect and it goes away when I load it. I thought I read that versions of tracks saying Amplitube are recorded with the effect.
So if not supported, why then do MAC packages include a file of IK Plugins?
