If it's the removable drive and you started the computer without it being connected, this might have triggered the O/S to remove the link. Maybe.
I have Windows 7 and have the same problems if my USB drive is not connected at boot up. DE
Win 10, 64 bit, love my Lenovo T420, BIAB 2019 (613), RB 2019 (2)
