https://soundcloud.com/user-108834131/icarus-vocal-mp3 Hello Friends, Icarus was from part of my learning days with BiaB its all Midi only RT drums Nashville even was reluctant to post at first, but I think the story line has enough merit to do so I am going to try 're work it, especially closing up the breaks a bit shorter. I am looking at Rts like 1004 Guitar 12 string Acoustic Rhythm and 1513 Guitar electric soloist country Brent and I was amazed at the punch they give. Any co opting on project would be great, as my huge drawback is my poor ability with DAWS Paddy G

Awesome!
I like this the way it is myself. Great song!!
My only suggestion is the mix seems a little crisp. Not overly, but the guitars seem a wee bit trebly.
What program are you to master??

This is very good song. Like others I liked the vocal echo effect - its original ( is it the PG Echo plugin?).
There are some really good lines in the lyrics:
" there`s no fool like an old fool
pulled into her whirlpool"
I can relate to your frustration with DAWS... it can take the joy out of music making sometimes.

Let me add my vote of support, too. I liked what you've done. It's thumbs up from me. The only way to get on top of DAWs is to mix songs. With each one, it gets a bit easier. I've also found that watching Youtube clips on mixing is valuable.

The DAW will become second nature. Some have a steeper learning curve than others but it's worth the investment in time. FWIW
We enjoyed the write, the vocal and the mix works very well in expressing the feel of the song.
