Okay, so I have Windows 10 installed and I am favorably impressed.
Stupid question #1: How do I locate my mp3 folders or specific songs?
In Win 7, I had a folder of various music and audio folders on my desktop, specifically, one named OTR for my Old Time Radio shows that I fall asleep listening to every night.
How do I place my favorite folders on the Quick Launch Desktop? I'm suffering OTR withdrawal because I couldn't figure it out last evening!
Addendum New Win 10 onscreen keyboard reacts very differently - forgive increase in typos. I'll get used to it eventually (it says here in 6pt type).
Thanks,
Donny

Hi Don. I'm going to answer with a non-answer.
My PC experience goes back way before Windows. I've taught thousands how to set up their computer file structure. Whatever changes Windows makes, I don't care; I still use a separate utility to find my files. It's based on the old Norton Utilities you might remember from the early Windows days. If you are interested, I can give you more info. It is called Total Commander. It's free, or register and avoid the opening screen for a one-time modest registration fee.

Appreciate your generosity, Matt. Windows 7 had a search box on the main window where I would enter "*.mp3" and it would list every mp3on all of my drives. Surely Win 10 has something equivalent.
I suspect there's way to "anchor" frequently used folders to the main screen but haven't figured that out yet.

Don, find your folder by searching for it on your C:/ drive then hold down the left mouse button and drag the folder to your desktop. That will create a shortcut to the folder.
To search either left click on the icon/box just right of the start button or right click on the start button and click on search.
I hope this helps - good luck.

Don, I thought you had MediaMonkey. Reload that tool and use it to scan the computer to rebuild your library.

Donny, 10 has the same File Explorer icon in your taskbar that 7 did. Click on that and it opens to your main directory tree. In the upper right of that window is the Search box. Plus don't forget about Cortana. Click in that box and ask her anything including where any file or folder is or how do do something. You can also make her voice activated. This article explains it: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2984791/windows/how-to-enable-windows-10s-hey-cortana-voice-commands.htmlAs an aside, you've probably never been a video gamer. Cortana is a hot babe computer generated AI from the Halo video game series who is very smart and assists the Master Chief in defeating the space invaders. There's tons of clips of her in action on YouTube. Bob
